Save the Children is an international non-profit organization that focuses on the fulfillment of children’s right. Save the Children was first established in May 1919 in the U.K. and to date has 28 Save the Children Offices and operations in more than 120 countries worldwide. 1n 1976, Save the Children signed an MoU with the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, followed then by the operations of Save the Children throughout Indonesia. Currently, Save the Children work in 11 provinces with a variety of program areas, such as: Education, Health and Sanitation, Livelihood, Child Protection also Disaster Risk Reduction.

Now we are looking for a position of :

Budget Analyst (code: BA-JKT), 1 position, based in Jakarta



Reporting to the Finance and Budget Manager, the Budget Analyst is responsible for the development of budgets for proposals, reporting the budget vs actual expenditures and providing the analysis. The analyst is responsible for the development and maintenance of the country office master budget. The analyst is required to understand, analyze and for the timely reporting of expenses and spending trends in order to use donor funds in the most efficient manner and avoid overspending. S/he will also prepare quarterly assessments of the financial implementation of each proposal and lead meetings (virtual or in person) with budget holders to discuss any identified issues. Also, responsible for conducting ad-hoc financial analysis to improve management of awards and other operational matters.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Develop budget proposals and subsequent revisions in coordination with program staff, Awards & Sub Awards Manager, and Finance & Budget Manager for approval of Director of Programs or Country Director.
  2.  Prepare the country office master budget.
  3.  Develop and maintain staff-costs budget allocation.
  4.  Develop and maintain non-thematic non-personnel budget allocation.
  5.  Identify errors and suggest reclassification of miscoding expenditures.
  6.  Provide monthly Budget vs Actual (BVA) Expenditures with adequate analysis of spending trends and expenses to budget holders.
  7.  Alert budget holders and Program Director in a timely manner when an award runs the risk of being over or under spend.
  8.  Lead quarterly assessments of financial implementation of each project- including Programs management and the budget holder.
  9.  Provide quarterly updates of the country office master budget to the Country Director

10.  Support preparation of grants financial reports.

11.  Assist with the finance closing of awards in coordination with Awards & Sub Awards Manager and Finance and Budget Manager.

12.  Provide BVA training to Budget Holders/Program Managers.

13.  Other duties as assigned by Finance & Budget Manager.


QUALIFICATION
Education and skill:

•        Minimum Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business from a reputed university; Master degree preferred.
•        Excellence in budget preparation and analysis.
•        Ability to prepare multi-currencies budget proposals.
•        Skilled in AGRESSO 5.5 Business World is preferable.
•        Excellent knowledge of computer programmes (Excel, MS Power Point)
•        Excellent command of spoken and written English.
•        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong presentation skills.
•        Ability to work independently without considerable day to day support.
Experience and Knowledge:

•        Minimum of three years working on budgeting and financial analysis and controlling with multiple budget holders.

•        Preferable with experience working with an international organization.
